Together with the Genomic Standards Consortium (GSC), The University of Queensland is organising the next GSC Workshop in Brisbane, Australia from 15th – 17th May 2017.
The GSC is an open-membership working body formed in September 2005. The goal of this International community is to promote mechanisms that standardise the description of genomes and the exchange and integration of genomic metadata. This year’s theme is “Extending Standards to Viruses and Microbial Eukaryotes”.
The GSC hosts consortium research meetings to inform and engage the research community, through in-depth discussions and exchange of ideas, to develop tools for metadata capture, exchange, and implementation. The GSC conference series has created a highly interactive and collaborative international community that continues to provide opportunities for training and collaboration between graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, junior faculty and more well established researchers.
This will be the first GSC meeting to occur in the Southern Hemisphere. The workshop will be composed of world-renowned researchers with expertise in genome research. If you are interested to attend, please register here GSC19 registration before 1st April for the early bird price.
