I am a biologist with expertise in fisheries, stress physiology, microbiology, and human microbiome research. I also have a passion for science communication. My skills include:
- designing research studies
- molecular biology (metagenomics, gene expression (QPCR), microarrays, DNA/RNA extraction)
- lab assays (enzyme assays, cortisol radioimmunoassays, and histology)
- data analysis
- running experimental trials (with fish)
- collecting field data
- developing and delivering presentations to targeted audiences (academics, resource managers, stakeholders)
- manuscript writing
- technical and non-technical report writing
- policy analysis
- translating science for a non-technical audience.
